Sandy Zettlemoyer

President Emeritus of CPATA

Alexander “Sandy” Zettlemoyer graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a degree in Psychology in 1991.  He then went on to earn his degree in Athletic Training from West Chester University. Sandy worked as a clinical outreach ATC for Bishop McDevitt and Central Dauphin East High Schools. In 1994, Sandy was hired as a full-time ATC for Shippensburg Area School District. Sandy became the Head Athletic Trainer for Mechanicsburg Area School District in 1995.   In addition to the his work in the high school setting, Sandy has been involved with Keystone State Games and served on their Sports Medicine Advisory Committee. He also worked for the Harrisburg Heat Professional Indoor Soccer team and Central Penn Piranhas Football team.

Sandy is involved with District and State Championships as a Certified Athletic Trainer. These associations allow him to foster relationships with many athletic directors, school administrators and PIAA staff. These relationships have given him a unique understanding of the inter workings and politics involved in local and state AD organizations and how CPATA can productively work with these groups. Sandy’s goals for CPATA would be to continue to advance the original charter of the organization. They include offering ATC’s open communications both with each other and our local athletic directors. He wants to use the connections he has developed to help promote athletic training at the local level.  Sandy feels that focusing our efforts at the local level, we can make changes that all ATC’s can realize daily.

Sandy and his wife, Michelle, reside in Mechanicsburg.  They have a 13 year old son, Gaige and an 9 year old daughter, Sydney.
