Susan Cappelli

President

Susan graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science in 1993 with a concentration in Athletic Training.  She then received her Master’s degree in Health and Human Performance from The University of Southern Mississippi in 1994.  In 1995 she was hired by Good Samaritan Hospital’s outreach program to work at Palmyra High School.  In the fall of 1996 she was the Head Athletic Trainer/Health and Athletic Training Teacher for Apopka High School in Apopka, FL.  For the last 15 years she has been the Athletic Trainer for Big Spring School District.  Susan is CSCS certified and also serves as an athletic trainer for many District and State Championships.

Susan is most interested in promoting the field of athletic training by starting at the local level.  It is important to build relationships and have good communication with not only other athletic trainers in the area but with athletic directors as well. Additionally, CPATA can be a great resource for all athletic trainers, new athletic trainers in the area or for someone who has been in the field for years. By working together, we can have a voice to help resolve issues that affect each of us every day.

Susan lives in Mechanicsburg with her husband Craig and their son, Trent (11) and daughter, Ava (10).
